| Design and conduct appropriate qualitative and analytical evaluations of ingredients. Coordinate the activity of other lab group members on larger projects.
Manage formula development program to demonstrate functionality of ingredients in a variety of product categories.
Provide technical support to the sales organization, customers and prospective customers (telephone support, bench work, on-site support) as needed. Interface with customers as necessary (telephone, on-site) to manage projects.
Provide periodic written and/or oral reports on assignment / projects status to Applications Manager and the commercial organization.
Source equipment and ingredients for the laboratory, manage annual Supply budget.
Assist Applications Manager in execution of Sales training initiatives.
Support Applications Lab-related external activities by attending events such as trade shows, sales calls, demonstrations.
15-20 % travel.
Perform other related functions necessary to achieve sales through effective applications work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MS degree in Food Science or equivalent.
2-5 years of experience in benchtop R&D environment.
Strong interest in ingredient technology, solid understanding of food chemistry.
Effective written and oral communications skills.
Well-developed quantitative skills (spreadsheets, basic statistical analysis)
Experience in project management and sensory testing a plus.
Independence and creativity in problem solving. |
